Me and Liv are going to host this fun and Satanic and homoerotic evening. Capes encouraged, although it will probably be one million degrees by then. Linen capes? Cape and bikini ensemble? Seeking urban cowboys
You might say Andrea Martin is bullish on downtown Sacramento.
Today she's opening a new bar and eatery, called Bulls.
The key attraction: what may be the city's only mechanical bull, with settings varying from "nice and easy" to "hold on for dear life."
"It's pretty easy to fall off if you've had a few drinks," Martin says of the 1,000-pound contraption acquired from a bull-rider-turned-bull-maker in Idaho.
The bar, in a former racquetball club at 14th and H streets, is shooting for a "western meets rock 'n' roll" theme, the owner says. Attractions include a varied food menu, "bull bucket" cocktails, pool and pingpong.
Martin, who also runs the Office Lounge on Fulton Avenue, got the mechanical bull idea from a nightspot she frequented in L.A. a decade ago. She went back last year to see if bar bull riding was still popular.
The place "was still there, still packed," she says. "So I don't think it's a fad."
