The internet is blowing up over this clip of a performance by Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke (Alan Thicke's son and a blue-eyed soul singer). I was skeptical but it's pretty bad-ass. You should watch it. I think Robin Thicke is totally cute but only if he's gay (I prefer my blue-eyed soul singers to be gay, I don't know why).
Since I got the link from the Fader I noticed that this month they have an article on Bloomington and how indie it is. That town loves the Bananas and it's pretty cool for a town in Indiana.
Perhaps no one except me can watch 4 minute videos at work.
ReplyDeleteThat Fader article just name checks plan-it-x but no bananas mention. Mostly it's about secretly canadian.
wow great clip buudy

oh yeah I forgot about that! was that the night that that huge basketball fight happened and everyone was just talking about that and watching it on the tv over and over?
ReplyDeleteI liked it too Becky! Is Alan Thicke the dad from Growing Pains? I haven't really paid attention to Lil Wayne yet, but he seems like a cool guy.

Oh you know Lil Wheezy, you just don't know that you know him! You know him from such songs as Tha Block is Hot, drop it like it's hot, etc. He was on Cash Money when he was 11 years old! And yeah, Alan Thicke is the dad on Growing Pains.
ReplyDeleteOh shit! that's the same kid? Wow, that's cool. How old is he now? Him and Robin Thicke still seem pretty young, which is part of what made that song so cute, they seem so earnest for such youngsters.

It's interesting to see that Alan Thicke fathered somebody who's actually talented. I don't know, there's something kind of comical about that clip, though.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good clip, but it still kinda has that high-falootin' music industry feel, ya know, where having fun is VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS.
It's possible that I am mistaken but I believe that Alan Thicke has also had a music career. That's if his fellow Canadians haven't been hoodwinking me.
