"Mayor Fargo said she expects the Sacramento police to analyze crime report data to determine possible explanations, such as demographic changes or gangs."
Could somebody suggest to Mayor Fargo that besides looking at the usual suspects, try looking at the increasing role that crystal meth has played in the region's economy? That's got to be as much of a factor as gangs or more people coming into the area.
Oakland's not that bad- only 61 homicides so far this year...

ReplyDeleteAnother reason?
ReplyDeleteNumber of cops per 1000 people:
NYC: 5
Baltimore: 5
DC: 7.4
Cleveland: 3.5
Miami: 3.1
Sacramento: 1.6
Yet, the Police Chief claims that "hiring more cops won't help".
Seriously, WTF?
