hold onto your hats

AP reviewed Sushi Cafe on Alhambra. Choice quote (unfortunately he did not have lunch with Henry Rollins):

Rollins and I took a pass on the sea urchin and smelt roe and asked for bento boxes

of course you did! Not like I'm some extreme challenge eater, but compared to him I am. Also, he defines "tempura" in the article.

I'm rather surprised that Mr. Pierleoni neglected to define "bento boxes" in his recent Bee piece. I'm still unclear on what a "bento box" is. Please, Bee, ennlighten us in future reviews of sushi restaurants.

  3. oh yeah, I can't make it, but don't forget Knock Knock, Agent Ribbons and Baby Grand in Cesar Chavez park tonight. I walked by this morning and it was TERRASHED from the Tesla concert there last night. Anyone go or drive by?

Bento is a Boxed Lunch for a picnic. Japanese are always making new names for bento. The latest one i remeber is umi bento. Which is a sea lunch box which was first sold out of the Hakata sea port when ya headed to Korea. Eki Bento is a train station bento that ya get before ya head out on a train. Depatoo Stores sometimes have eki bento fairs. My fave is the home made bento..Usually two boxes in which one is filled with rice and the other various fish, meat and veggies..Off To Work now bento less---Jay
