How have I never heard of this
long-standing Sac food blog? I like it, although the tone of the Piatti review is more than a bit snotty. She seems to hit up all the kinds of restaurants I'm interested in. She made want to give Mehran a try, but I'm not sure it's still open. The post on the native cuisine of Florida is really informative.
After I saw this earlier today and happened to be driving over on that part of F.O., I drove by and Mehran appears to still be open. The food is great and I seem to remember our bill being very reasonable. When we went, they didn't yet have a liquor license, which was no biggie, just funny when I went to the restroom and passed by the totally amazing and completely intact, but empty, bar leftover from.... was it called Wolfgang's?
ReplyDeleteIt cracks me up that the blogger is constantly referring to how "1994" everything at Piatti is, but she is admittedly only 19 herself. Ah, yes: I distintctly remember the cultural and gastronomical highlights of my outings when I was 3 years old. Dry Cheerios in a tin cup, I believe it was.

She's on Yelp. Faine G.
ReplyDeleteher blog's good though, that piatta entry isn't representative of the rest of her writing
ReplyDeleteI have been reading her blog for awhile now and I really like it. My favorite post was the one on Hungry Girl:
