have you seen my wallet?

Halloween was crazy but fun. I didn't bring my camera so I don't have any pictures. Even if I had brought my camera I wouldn't have any pictures, because it probably would have been stolen along with my wallet. On the plus side, I got to do a whip it. Blast from the past. The past being the walk-in refrigerator at my job when I was 21.

There is a good show tonight for those of you who aren't partied out. It's DJ Mike C.'s night at the Press. Maybe he will play some Rage Against The Machine. I don't know about the other bands but I know how young band Vichy Water will be playing. Good name. Tomorrow is the big Tyvek show.

Whip-its are my favorite. They make me see God.

I think M.R. is going to run the plates of the guys who were at least the accomplices. That was such a frustrating part of an otherwise hilarious and fun night.

Rage is gonna be stuck in my head for days.

  4. Did you guys read the kimchi article in Saveur? Interesting stuff. Is there a way to get any of the super stinky, extra-fermented stuff commercially in Sacramento? Does anyone serve it at a restaurant?

I'm gonna make the sauerkraut recipe from that Saveur.

  6. I was planning on making sauerkraut at one point until Dillon told me that the smell of it when he lived with people who were making it made him retch. Maybe keep it in the garage?

There's a butcher here whose wife ferments kraut and pickles in the back of the shop and keeps self-serve open wooden barrels up front. It's a pretty bombarding smell.

Best in the basement or garage.

  11. You can't tell me what I can stink up.

That reminds me I was planning on getting ahold of Mackfessel to interview him and forgot.

I can't wait to listen tonight! I hope his friends get out. I'm so glad he didn't get caught. This story seemed funny to me at first because I assumed Iran would let them go right away.

  12. Ask at the Korean market for good places to get kimchi in Sacramento. What kind of kimch where they talking about?

Kimchi stops you from getting swine flu and homosexuality. However, it does open you up for fan death (hypothermia when you sleep with the fan on and the windows are closed).

Another thing I love about Korea is there's almost no homophobia, since everyone is straight. Lots of high school boys resting their heads in other boys laps, and feeding each other chocolate.

btw i didn't mean insinuate in the other post that sac was lesser than some ideal city. it was just an observation of the catch-22 in attracting a good crowd to an underground show.

  18. Of course it's not an ideal city. Lots of things suck about Sacramento. But I think the amount of music fans is pretty much commensurate to the size of the population, especially since the downtown core is pretty small.

Unfortunately you wouldn't know that by the dismal turnout at last night's Tyvek show!
