Well, the yardsale was a spectacular....failure. I made a few bucks and probably spent it all on lunch. Thanks to MM for buying a few things. I was happy that an older lady bought this super loud dress that I have never been able to successfully rock. We needed some dude hipsters to show up to buy smiller's castoff plaids, but none ever materialized. Well, actually, they all rode by on fixies and weren't able to stop. It's like we're on a yelp thread right now!
I did earn the misplaced nickname "Chugwald" at an after-party this weekend. That's right, I afterpartied, mostly because Biz said something like "we're old, this may be our last afterparty". Sad but true. Or is it even sad?
if it makes you feel better, Gabba wore one of smiller's plaid shirts to his show on sat night.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really doubt that will be your last afterparty.
Hey! This Saturday we are having an art show at 2100 11th St starting at 7. With art by myself, Aaron Hood, Trent Liddicoat, Gabriel Nokes, Paul Ramos, and Daniel Trudeau and with musical performances by Ellie Fortune, M. Lee White, Allen Maxwell.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be displaying nearly 30 pieces. Bring a shirt and I'll make you a bill murray shirt!
Anyway, you and everyone should come!
did smiller check out that all-record yard sale? there was a nice copy of an early Dexy's Midnight Runners LP for $5.

Nah, I was too tired to get there before the good records all got snagged. And dude, come on, I got all that Dexy's stuff years ago! Did you get anything good?
ReplyDelete-miller
Matranga was going through the last box and Joey D was leaving with an armload of LPS as I arrived at 9:05 AM, so there wasn't much left for me. Did get a 2 LP box set of Artie Shaw radio airchecks and a nice copy of Disreali Gears, which I am still kinda surprised I'd never gotten before.

Can't hang. I like to leisurely go through boxes of records, not race Joey D to bottom. The focus on re-selling/Ebay has pretty much ruined these record things for me. I'll have to stick to random record-store finds.

(shakes fist) damn you joey d.... !
ReplyDeletedo you gotta any clothes left? i wanna take a peak if so. i rocked that Vera shirt like it was going outta style Sat. the best!
I might put the stuff I didn't give away (aka the good stuff) out on my lawn on Saturday. I'll send out texts if I do. Also, I need to sell this antique bed that's been in our garage for years. If I do, I'll post pictures. It's a full sized bed, not the magnificent California King that we now luxuriate on.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just a bed frame?

Hey, does anyone have any idea where I can get an old-ish phone charger for my old-ish phone? It's a Sanyo. Radio Shack doesn't have it. Preferably somewhere remotely bike-able from downtown?
ReplyDelete-miller
the internet

I'm not sure if the phone's busted or the charger's busted so I don't want to mailorder one & wait 5 days to find out that it's the phone. Meanwhile my phone's dead. I guess I'll just suck it up & go get a new phone which I don't even want! I'm also not sure I want to extend my Sprint contract which is just up. I look forward to this new phone being totally obsolete in 2 years like my current one!
ReplyDelete-miller
well, yeah a bed frame. not a mattress.
ReplyDeleteRiteAid might have some older phone chargers still on the shelf.
ReplyDeleteDenios - that is where all old phone chargers go. In the new shit section, not the old shit. Not bikeable, sorry.
ReplyDeleteec
if anyone could bike to denios, it would be him. that's not a dis, by the way!
