tonight tonight

OK, so Paul Collins is playing in-store at Phono Select today at 6:30, and then tonight at The Hub with Boats! and Poontoons. An interesting twist is that at The Hub it's 7 bucks if you have exact change and 10 if you don't.

You know that ORMF:X is this Saturday, right? Dreamdate got added! I heard the Fresh and Onlys aren't playing but they are still listed on the myspace.

is there a schedule for Saturday at all? I know that Dreamdate said they were playing at 5pm on their facebook.

I want to see them and Buk Buk Bigups, but I also want to go to the MTX show that night!

I've never been to ORMF:X before!

Am I the only one who thinks this exact change thing is weird? I am highly prone to crankiness I know, but thats way beyond me, just won't make change. I know it sucks when you have a shortage of ones but you just have to get some before you work the door we have all done it. the lady the other night got grumbly about me giving her a five she thought was a ten.
the hub just loves exactness I guess.

  4. If you wanna see the Bigups Band and Dreamdate and still see MTX later, that plan will work. We stuck the weird, transgressive, violent-sounding bands last, so you can duck outta there by 8:30 and see all the bands that have broader appeal. The late-afternoon-to-early-evening block is gonna be all about fun.

I gotta remember that the "Plainfield Burger" is a full pound of beef plus bacon plus scads of cheese. Food coma! I gotta order something smaller, but I always forget what happened last time and get big eyes for the Plainfield.

  5. I always go for the veggie burger. It's a standard gardenburger, which I like sometimes, and the fries are good.

You know who else hates change? Argentina. That's a true story from Brew's trip there. Something to do with their financial collapse. It led the country to hate giving change.

I showed up at that UV Race show with nothing but a $20 and two ones. They didn't have any change so I got in for $2.

  8. both of paul collins' sets were super good. that man is a real rock and roll professional. it was sooooo hot in the hub but he wouldn't stop rocking. it's unbelievable how many hits he has written.

p.s.-did you know that amy fisher made a porn movie? she also has had so much plastic surgery on her face that it's hard to tell it's her. remember when two tv movies about amy fisher came out, one starring drew barrymore? i wonder if i can netflix that.

There were 3 Amy Fisher TV movies - one with Barrymore, one with Alyssa Milano (generous!), and one called "Amy Fisher - My Story", starring Noelle Parker.

    I'm here to help.

    Poison Ivy one
    Barrymore as Fisher
    Poison Ivy 2

    A great evening of film.

  11. You can't get the Drew Barrymore Amy Fisher movie on Netflix. That is un-American. I am outraged. I blame Barbara Boxer.
