There was a calvin and hobbes strip once (haha out of thousands I guess) that was just the two main character's upper torso talking about how "grandpa says there's too much dialogue in comics these days, and too little space for the illustration."
Also, yeah that's a pretty boring comic. You have to be pretty good at visual storytelling to do a one-panel comic, and clearly... someone had a late lunch at the all you can eat buffet before their appointed cartooning time.
