Corned beef?

damnit, I forgot that it was St. Patrick's Day and I didn't make any provisions for getting my paws on some corned beef and cabbage.  Is there anyone that's going to be serving it tonight after nine?  I've heard the Limelight has the good stuff, but I don't know if that's just for lunch.

The first time I had it at Limelight - years ago now - it was the best! The next few years it was still good but I kept wanting it to be as amazing as the first time. For the last few St Patrick's Days I've been going to Bud's Buffet & it's pretty good but more notable just for the insane amount that you get.

I heard Bernardo was having it for a special so I might check & see if the one on 15th has it for lunch. Or I may not even bother since corned beef doesn't even sound remotely good to me right now!

Give Brownie's a call! Their sign out front touts their corned beef as "world famous"...It's their Wednesday lunch special. But I bet they do it up special for tonight, too. Just a hunch anyway. I'd try it there before anywhere else around here.

I've had Brownie's & it was pretty darn good. Jamie's is definitely serving it today - I bet they make killer corned beef. It's too bad most places only do it on St Patrick's Day aka the lamest holiday ever.

nevermind. i had a lalos torta (milaneza, which was gross today), quesadilla (potato-which is great-mashed potatoes and cheese inside!), and mango licuado for lunch today. i will be eating alfafa sprouts for dinner.

i boycott brownies cuz the owner is a jerk

There is a secret trail from my house to Lalo's. I'm barely even kidding. It connects Deeble Street to 28th Ave and goes by that little farm behind that strange house on 28th.

Are you guys talking about Brownies in South Land Park? Is it really good?
I really wanted to have Jamie's today but it wasn't possible. Luckily, I had a friend bring me some delicious corned beef from Corti's. I also bought cornedbeefpotatocabbage sausages from Morants-they were frozen. I have a hunch they will be weird but I couldn't resist.

Deeble Street! We used to score weed on Deeble Street from a dude called Old Man Frank.

Old Man Frank huh? Strange that his initials are OMF... coincidence?

There's only two houses on Deeble, and one of them's a childcare business. So, if I wasn't the straight-edge youth of today, I guess I'd know where to go now, huh?

It was indeed the ULTIMATE drug dealer location. Dude sold dime bags exclusively!

Best part about being unemployed? Lot's of time to celebrate my irishness by cooking up a corned beef dinner. Potatoes, cabbage and a parsnip and carrot mash. Took 4 hours to get it all done but created surprisingly few dirty dishes. I'm eating a hash made of the leftovers right now as I type.
