autobiography
Holy shit! I googled "jess hilliard" cuz smiller was asking me about an audio zine he used to do called "troop librarian" and because I was reminded of him the other day by that Dishwasher Pete interview. He wrote this totally wonderful autobiography on this website. Holy crap, it's so great! It's funny because this website that it's on seems like something I wouldn't like, and I'm definitely not sure how I feel about Miranda July (who is partially responsible for the site), but I've looked at it before and some of the displays are oddly touching. I liked the one where people sent in pictures from under their beds.

no, cuz i do really like the website, just miranda july bugs me sometimes. i didn't like her movie and i get annoyed that the new yorker prints her fiction. like in the latest issue she wrote two things! stupid summer fiction double issue! don't get me started.

Troop Librarian was pretty neat, I think I still have a copy somewhere in my cassette collection. I really should transfer some of that stuff to a less fragile recording meejum (including things like Yahmos and Shark Fetish bootlegs) but I'm flaky as hell when it comes to that sort of stuff. That and I don't have a decent tape recorder.
Does anybody have a copy of "Hi Friend"? I've always wanted to read it, but I've never seen it for sale anywhere.

I have a copy of Hi Friend around someplace. In a box, or a crate. It is a funny read as you can imagine. (Sort of like hanging around hearing Jess tell stories). Problem: You'll have to come to Vermont to geet your mitts on my copy. Good luck.
