positivity within my negativity

All right.  Time for some positivity! Yeah! Wednesday! Uh, let's see...I continued my Nicholas Winding Refn jab by watching one of the most poignant gangster movies ever, Pusher 2: with blood on my hands.  This guy is seriously the most pathetic gangster with a really empty life.  It's the anti-glamour crime movie.  I liked it!!

I have a coffee article coming out in the news and review.  I'm stoked.  It's slated for the 16th, which is over a month lag since I wrote it and it feels like forever because I was so excited about it.  It was fun talking to coffee dudes (my bad that I didn't seek out a lady) about coffee.  I've been thinking about it differently since.

Any of you guys eaten at the Porch?  How about Capitol Garage?  You know it's the same people, right?  I know Cap. G. is packed for brunch but I've never had anyone recommend it.

We ate at the Porch. It wasn't that great. You could tell they were trying to be like Screen Door in Portland but it wasn't as good, more expensive and had a pretty terrible ambience (I don't know if anyone else cares about that, but we were bummed on it.) The most memorable thing was the little toast with the currants and whatever else that was, which was really good, but I (obviously) don't know much about that kind of thing so maybe it wasn't that good it was just new to me. Their collard greens were pretty bland.

my earlier comment stands somewhere between Applebees and Grizzlebees.

My dining companion had one of the worst greasiest burgers ever.

The fried green tomatoes were cold and tasted like dirty oil. ambiance terrible, out of fried chicken at 7:30 on a Friday.

and cody's right bland greens! there is no excuse.

Natalie.

I have gone to the champagne brunch at Cap G a few times. I find it totally enjoyable, but then I am usually pissed by noon.

You didn't too much by missing the fried chicken. It was alright, but I'd rather have Popeyes. Might say more about me than The Porch though.

Obviously haven't eaten there in a while, but I liked brunch at Capitol Garage. I wouldn't enthusiastically recommend it but it's a hefty pile of food if you've got the time (food service is on the slow side).

Did you watch the first "Pusher"?

yes. I liked it. I maybe liked Pusher 2 better, however Pusher does have that one gross shocker that's pretty incredible (on par with Samuel L. Jackson getting eaten by the shark in that one movie where all everyone remembers is that he gets eaten by a shark wait is this like a dream of mine or does that movie really exist?)

"Deep Blue Sea". That shit happened!

Netflix keeps trying to push Pusher III onto me...how's that one? And has anyone seen Timecrime? It's good.

I don't know what Timecrime is but I'm sold on the title alone.

I prefer Mindcrime. And Grimecrime.

I will be watching Pusher 3: I'm the angel of death soon. The names crack me up!
