hope her boss will let her have a minute away to read this interview. I think that Tony Bourdain is really inspiring. Those are a couple of his yearbook photos.

That was a really good interview. Makes me want to get to the airport and leave.

Sweet! My boss can be a total hard ass, but maybe I can sneak a few minutes away to read this. I heart Tony and this hippy hair!

I know! I totally already wanted to go to Vietnam but now I really do. One of the inspiring things about it is how he started traveling when he was older (in his forties, I think) but totally got into it.

I hope Katy gets to see this, seeing as how she's t-minus 2 days from taking off on her great Japan adventure!

The conversation totally sums up why travel is not just one of the great pleasures of life, but something that you should do in order to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and truly meet the rest of the world on its own terms.

yes, one of the things i love the most about travelling is being out of my comfort zone, learning something new every day and encountering people who have absolutely no reason to be nice to you yet treat you so well. it really restores my faith in the world.

i'm excited he's going to Iran. i really, really want to go. i have some co-workers from Iran who believe i could do this (yes, maybe with a tour group) and not get my ass handed to me. but, that might be too risky.
