RIP Gino Corti

For all the places you can pick up midtown monthly see the comments in the last post.

This place Smaak sounds intriguing, but I can't tell exactly what they serve. They really scored by getting the url europeanbuffet.com. I'm suprised no one else had snapped that up. I am definitely going to go to Stolighniy Russian Ukrainian & American Cuisine for my next article. And I can't wait to eat at Cafe Marika. I've never been there!

Get this-can you believe that tickets to see Jackie Greene at Marilyn's on New Years Eve are sixty fucking dollars! Luckily, tickets to see Jonathan Richman at the same venue are only fifteen. It's on saturday, December 16th.

Lastly, RIP Gino Corti, who was the cofounder of Corti Brothers along with his previously deceased brother Frank.

Beckler, that Stolighniy place is across the street from pattaya and Arbat (the eastern european grocery store). You should go back to that Teremok place and score some kebab out back, and fed ex me some more of that chicken liver pate. mmm! We ate Lebanese/Aremenian food last night. Quail, fried calf's liver, raw ground steak and neat little bulghur/potato/red pepper croquettes that were soft, like paste and quite tasty.

And by Aremenian, I meant Armenian.

I've never eaten there. With Touch of Britain and Pattaya, I've never had a chance. It's been there for kind of a long time, at least 5 years.

I believe Teremok serves kebab and other stuff outside from Thursday through Sunday. I had some smoked fish from Arbat that was real good one time. They have so much stuff in that deli case. Teremok too.

I don't know of any Polish food in Sacramento. My very favorite restaurant in the world used to be in Woodland, called Lazlo's and it was Hungarian. I don't think it's there anymore. It was in an old house. Marika is great. It's kind of more czech food. I simply adore Eva and Louie. "have you decide?"

Yes, Marika is delicious and I always thought it was very authentically Hungarian. Really the differences between a lot Central/Eastern euro dishes are so negligible, like the consistency of stews or whether things are served with smaller noodles or larger dumplings.

Also, Hungary is a Central European country. Please still include Marika in your article though, or at least still eat there, because it's terrific. Make sure to have a glass of Tokay after your meal.

Is the dumpling a dish that exists in some form in the dishes of all the cultures of the world? I know that's not a particularly fasinating topic, but my limited amateur research through the years seems to suggest yes.

would a mexican dumpling be a tamale? discuss.

Stephen Glass said...

Now, that was some discussion.
But I think a tamale does narrowly meet the dumpling standard, for what it's worth.

Mexican dumpling = empanada.

I am too lazy to Tilda.

Smaak is a great restaurant. Top quality food, nice ambience, comfortable chairs, and clean atmosphere are the main characteristics of Smaak. Of course, the food is very delicious. I have been there four times already and I live in Elk Grove. My co-workers also love this place. Please check it out. There are buy 1 get 1 free coupons on the internet if you do a search. Have a great day!
