goodbye pussycat, hello all-you-can-eat steak

Gballs linked to this on the poinsettia group.  I may have mentioned in this forum before that my grandpa used to work at this establishment.

I can't imagine being in a place where 500 people were eating all the steak they could. Seems frightening

Fortunately, in addition to the steak, the restaurant also features food choices.
"The "Great Steak Buffet" features all-you-can-eat sirloin steak. The chain also features food choices such as pasta, pizza, fresh vegetables, salad bar and carved meats."

The Bee is correct, it opened as the Coronet in 1963. But specifically, its grand opening was Nov. 22, 1963, the day JFK was assassinated. That may have put a permanent curse on the place.
Hopefully not on the familt eatery as well ...
