sandra dees

Man, I forgot to bring the Dead handbook today to scan pictures and get quotes. Maybe that will be the friday treat. Or if Scott is going home at lunch, he could call me with a good quote? Something that will help us marinate our minds?

Yesterday I had lunch at Sandra Dees. It was the first time I had been there in years. I was surprised by how good it was. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was really tender and intensely smoky tasting. The sauce was a little sweet for me, and the roll was wonderbread quality, but the quality of the side of red beans and rice made up for that. It was really spicy and delicious. I sampled a bunch of other peoples dishes and I think I ordered the best thing. The ribs were dry and the pork sandwich wasn't very smoky. I'm going to Nashville next month and this visit got me excited to eat a lot of bbq there. Meat and three!

I have to scamper the universe at lunch but I might have time to stop by our house afterwards.

Also the oyster loaf with spicy sauce at Sandra Dees makes me weep with joy. and then take a big nap.

May I recommend the hush puppies and mac & cheese side dishes? Best reason to go there.
Also I was just there about 2 weeks ago and my ribs were perfect. Maybe lunchtime isn't as good.

If you want a meat and 3 experience, definitely go to Monell's, although it is more like meats and 12. Amazing.
