weak mayor here to stay

Hey look, Marcos Breton called us "bumpkins"

So, why did KJ have to drop the strong mayor bid?  Was it because the city council wasn't obligated to let him put it on the ballot?  Did he not realize that when he tried to force it through?

I'm craving spaghetti and meatballs. Does any restaurant in Sac make a good version? Milazzo used to have a good dish of it.

I'm craving an ice cream cake and when I get my sense of taste back from this dreadful cold, I mean to have it.

P.S. Regards to the spaghetti and meatballs, is Pronto any good? I've never been but hear mixed reviews of it.

I miss Milazzo -- the woman who ran it now works at Trader Joe's but rarely walks around with spaghetti and meatballs.

Had Pronto once -- it was decent for the price, not exceptional but not nauseating -- I kind of liked the polenta bowl but after awhile it was a bit overwhelming

I may be a bumpkin, but Breton is a dumbshit

Pronto has fine meatballs, I would recommend them.

but that's ridiculous, what about his army of signature gatherers-including the ones lying to get one?

They overshoot because of stuff like that. Just because they lied to get you to sign them, doesn't mean they lied because they agree with KJ. They get paid by the sig.

A lot of sigs get tossed out, so they have to overshoot to make up for that.

becky: Read last week's Bites column. 38,000 unverified signatures is almost certainly NOT enough to mean 33,000 legitimate signatures. Apparently, signature gatherers normally shoot for a 30-50% overage on signatures because so many signatures can't be used, especially if one is shooting for "low-information" voters and paid signature gatherers are pressuring people to sign. That means they had hoped for 43,000-50,000 pre-verification signatures.

Which means that even with the high-pressure tactics, public response was far, far more lukewarm than they expected, even after spending $150,000 on it.

I do not like meatballs, but I do like Mama Susanna's.

I'll bet Roma pizza has good spaghetti and meatballs. They certainly have good meatballs. At least according to people who like meatballs.

g2's right. I grew up next door to the folks who own Roma 2 and my mom still buys her meatballs from them. They're amazing.

Gbomb,
I heard the mama susanna people are moving to Arizona. I think they sold the place. Hopefully the new owners keep the caesar dressing the same. That is my favorite caesar. I bet it is made with mayo or something super unauthentic but I don't care.

I'm at pronto right now! How crazy? Not very. I ordered the BLT and they didn't know what I was talking about til ivsaid the "pronto Blt". The only person who will get that "joke" probably won't see it.
