meet and greet the heat

I have tomorrow off. There's a Tetuzi Akiyama show at Fool's tonight. This guy is an improvising blues country guitarist from Japan? Hmm...don't know what to say about that. There is an interesting show at on the y tomorrow. Well, I'm really just going because smiller thinks it will be good and I trust him, I don't know much about it.

I'm eating at Ricksha tonight because I'm writing a thing about Japantown for the midtown/downtown monthly. I haven't been there in forever!

So Luna's has started having noise shows now? That's really weird.

Any reports on the Four Eyes show? I wanted to go but I am all about trying to Beat the Heat and that would be more like Meet the Heat! Har!

Apparently you haven't heard of a little thing we like to call Jillary's pool.

Show was awesome. The Crimson Ghosts charmed my pants off and I don't really like either the Misfits or surf music. They had mad moves and they sounded great. Miss B. and The Head went so Wildstyle!(tm) in the pool that they nearly gave heckamax an asthma attack.

The 4 eyes liveblogged the show or some nerd thing like that. Vegan dawgs for everybody!

In short, perfect Sacto Monday night.

Miller, several times during the show I was really wondering why you weren't there.
plus it was the first time I have ever played a lord of the rings video game involving a sword while the four eyes played.

Wildstyle is sorry about the asthma attack, but you know what they say, if you can't stand the heat get outta the loch.

Tetuzi reviews sound pretty good and he`s from tokyo which gives him duckets of points. But tokyo is full of snobs and even Kumamoto they laugh at my Q-tip guitar pegs. All the japanese bluesy stuff i`ve seen has been a so so imitation(nice suits for boogie bands and gear(all bands) but bland tunes)taken way too serious.Guitar Wolf is good and even Charlie Nagatani(country-folk)which is Kumamoto`s Buck Owens but spending $20.00 here to check out somebody is hard and mostly disappointing at the end.Clubs are smoky and patrons usually freaked as why a foreigner is here.Charlie played uso clubs in the 50`s and 60`s around the pacific the dude is 78 and still is playin`.We also have a country music fest here in Kumamoto at the end of summer. If anybody sees tetuzi give a review for a joe. There are quite a few blues bars in downtown kumamoto one is a live house which is called slow hand and the owner will jam clapton forever(very bad)with a drum machine. The other is a bar with records and cds that you can request.Drinks are pricy at $5 to $8 duckets. The other week i played for beer at bars in kumamoto which is fun when your poor.As for the Misfits check out their japanese counterpart Balzac. The Art,the songs, the look their pretty much the misfits...And as for gangs and gang violence--japan incorporates and gives licenses for gangs. They have offices with names on them. One i ride by is called Hell,inc...I wanna take a picture but it is too scary.Yesterday i saw russian girls getting there foriegner cards coming out of a van sayin` kase music productions.I don`t think any of them were like tatu and the kase guys---- well,Track suits and cell phones glued to the ear is a clue...jay san

Man, the wolf is getting a lot of play these days. Hecka and smiller are going to see Fuckwolf tomorrow night, then you got We Are Wolves, Wolf Parade, Wolfmother, AIDS Wolf, Wolf Eyes ... and jay san even talks of Japan's Guitar Wolf! Does PETA know about this?

The wolf thing is waaaay out of control. I refuse to listen to any wolf band. Wolves are lame. My sister has a painting of a wolf on her wall and it sucks.

Come to think of it, the wolf thing was already way out of control at least a year ago. I can't believe that it continues to escalate. shit! fuckin' wolves.
as above

I had to babysit dogs. That's best excuse Chris Olsen has for missing a Foureyes show at the former Bro House, which is sad, but it's the truth. I hope they understand.

Homzee, do you have a wild baby giant bird? Wild baby birds always die. Don't trick yourself into thinking you can play mom. I learned the hard way. They seem fine, they're cute, you're teaching them how to fly and then all of sudden they're dead and you feel like shit.

naw i didn't keep the bird, although it is hecka tough, as its legend grew there were more and more neighborhood cats hanging out in the backyard but they wouldn't fuck with it. animal control tried to tell me it was lucky but i know better its the the champ and those other pheasants better reckonise and not try anything either.

We have been doing noise shows at Luna's for, like, three or four years now. The first night of Noisefest has been held there since, I think, 2002 or 2003.
