they should be committed, alright

Yes, I am blogging on my day off. Just because I care about my readers and I want you all to know that the ten dollar tasting at 58 degrees tonight from 5-7 is zinfandels. There, now you all have plans for tonight and you can thank me for it. We went there last night for a glass and Lisa D. let us tast a moscato d'asti that's called bug juice which is a very refreshing and slightly fizzy dessert wine that I would definitely recommend to beat the heat. She also took us back to see the reserve room and wine lockers (both rooms were very cool and smelled great, like fresh-cut wood). We also got to see the members lounge and Doug and Jackie Christie were up on some program on the flatscreen looking fully insane. I think they wrote a book called "doug and jackie christie committed" or something but I can't find any info on it. Here's a link to an old nytimes article about their, um, unique relationship.

I ate at Ricksha last night and it was surprisingly great, well most of it. Damn, now I used one of the only adjectives I possess to describe it and I'll have to haul out the thesaurus for the midtown monthly article. Today I'm eating at June's for the very first time, which is a special day in any girls life.

"I put my hand up and told her to back off really loud," she said. "It scared me, because my voice sounded like a demon. It just came out. She was a pretty girl, very young. But she was touching someone she shouldn't have been."

It ain't true love unless your lady can conjur a demon to protect your honor.

That article about Doug and Jackie (sittin' in a tree/k-i-s-s...) brought to mind words such as "suffocation" and "murder-suicide."

first time at Junes?
I simply cannot believe that. I am so excited for you.

-natalie.
p.s. due to my wine allergies and the wine fever that is gripping those around me would anyone like to come to my cheap beer and Kool Aid tasting? or perhaps iced tea? I have just got to come up with a fucking alternative.
"that red razzle berry has a hint of plastic and ADD"
Of course before I offend nyone, I am kidding. Everyone knows that razzleberry is crap.

I still haven't forgiven Doug Christie for leading his high school team to victory in the 1988 Washington State AA championships.

2nd place went to a ragtag bunch of misfits from a little town called Sequim.

Also, Nat, I'd come to your tasting (if I were anywhere nearby), even though I gots a case of the wine fever myself. I think we should do an unnatural berry taste off. Razzleberry, mountain berry, ... What other made up berries are there? Are they all blue?

You gonna have the Jim Jones grape flavored Flav-R-Aid on hand?

Sequim Basketball rulz.
as does the class of 92'

I seem to recall a rather gross fortified wine that made an appearance in our youth known as midnight berry. 99 cents a bottle.

here is a list of past and current berry flavored Kool Aids (thanks internet!)
Blastin' Berry Cherry
Blue Moon Berry Blue Raspberry Bunch
Berry Grape
Berry Splash,
Incrediberry,
Man-O-Mango-Berry,
Mountain Berry Punch, Sharkleberry Fin,
Surfin' Berry Punch, Wildberry Tea
Yabba Dabba Doo Berry

I hate to see those sharkleberrys lose their fins like that.
I have a feeling most of them are blue.

Miss you.

The June's comment reminds me...why aren't more Sacramentans on Yelp? You all need to get on it!

I cruised by Fitty8 last night too and bought a couple bottles. I found a $14 or $15 bottle on the rack that was mispriced at $10, but the guy wouldn't give it to me since "Uh, it's in the system at the higher price, sorry." Consumer influence isn't what it used to be. Nor is that magic manager discount/override button. Ah well, shoot, I still bought it. The guy was cool and the A/C felt good, albeit I did not get a backstage tour as you did even after being denied on the cheaper ring price. I like their set-up in there. I also like how seemlessly you wove the Christies in to your review. I never thought I would think of those weirdos again, especially while thinking of wine.

Yelp.com doesn't have a Sacramento pick, but there's Sacramento places on there.
