John Carpenters The Beard

Wow, you guys almost crashed the server with your wave of votes, but I hear you loud and clear. Next Tuesday, at the Verge, for MidMoMoNi, we will be showing John Carpenter's The Thing starring Kurt Russell's beard. We will be selling brews and popping corn. I think I will probably get a sixer of Caldera IPA from the Davis Co-op, to sell for two bucks a pop. It is a tasty brau. We will have cheap beer too. Starts at 7:30.

boom, neck and neck with 26 minutes. i may be the tie breaker. help me out here, describe any beards that are present in the haunting? are they attached to mr. kurt russell? if no, are they attached to some other russell-like man?

Richard Johnson has a very neatly kept moustache in "The Haunting", but there's not a beard to be found. The right call was made.

I had to discard my neutrality and step in. Nature abhors a tie.

So it will be me and 3 other people cozying up to Russell's beard. Hopefully Liv will still come.

Is it possible to do a last minute write in campaign for the Nicolas Cage version of the Wicker Man?

Save me one of those good beers and I'll be there. It's been a few years since I've seen "The Thing".

Not to get all squirrelly at the last minute but now I'm wondering why we didn't think of the original Wicker Man when we were coming up with ideas... alas.

The original Wicker Man is more of a May Day movie.

I saw The Thing when it first came out. There were about 20 people in the theater, and some jerk brought his 3ish year old kid. The kid went ballistic when the dogs started splitting open and the guy wouldn't take him outside. I hated that guy. But it's a great movie!
