monday monday

well...I emailed Voisin a link to that discussion of her column and apologized for spelling her name wrong, so we'll see if she replies

The Halloween show. What can I say? Insane. The liquids that I imbibed that night were including and thank god mostly limited to a small hot sake while I waited for my food at Tamaya, an entire bottle of Mondavi Zinfandel and a diet Sparks. I was telling Grace and D.P. last night that I wish I could rig up some kind of neural alarm system whereas the instant my brain transmitted the thought "I am being so funny right now" that I would get a big electric shock if I tried to take another drink. That is a sure sign that I am not being funny at all. So that is my disclaimer about my own personal behavior. But enough about me. I hope people will post some pictures soon. Everyone was sooooooo good. The Mac ripped it up, the girl who sang for Heart took everyone by surprise, Heckamax was definitely the MVP for the night and somehow managed to expertly channel both Robert Plant and Sting, I was quite attracted to Heather dressed as Phil Lynott especially because of the package (sorry Mike you know she looked hot), some members of Oasis got a little too in character and took the piss out of everyone (did I just use that slang right?). Favorite moments and acts, everyone? Let's get this thing started out right today, it's gonna be a loooooong week.

In other news, I'm moving!!! No, not out of Sac, silly, like that's ever gonna happen. Nope, I'm moving out of my house on 11th and U all the way over to an apartment on 11th and T. I will miss DB and DP, but this place has a balcony, which I need, and a giant cute kitchen and a nice view of trees and I'm very very excited about it. Of course, being Sac it has no heat whatsoever and central air is a laughable dream, but that's the breaks. My new landlord Chung Fong is a funny guy and most importantly, he will never raise the rent. That's one of the best things about the southside, no crap-ass property companies, just a guy that gave me and Aimee a lecture about how if one of us gets married and moves out, we still have to pay the full rent. Oh really? So then it's exactly like renting any other apartment anywhere? I don't just get to decide what portion of rent I'd like to pay on any given month? Weird.

GREAT!!! I like that in the crowd shots I'm in in the bottom I don't look as wasted as I really was but that you can see that my tongue is all orange from the diet Sparks. Cab was fucking great and I love those pictures! Can we all just agree that Grace looks completely cute in the crowd, pics, too?

Please post pictures as I am blocked from Olson's sex blog. Well, I'm assuming that it is a sex blog because I'm blocked from it.

The Halloween show was the raddest, baddest, stupidest, greatest time I have ever had. Everyone was amazing. My favorites were Heart, Cab Calloway, and Thin Mother F'on Lizzy. I was also glad to see a bunch of new people get involved. Cody, I know you were busy, but you would of tore it up as Hank Jr. Next year. Those rookies in G n R were alright as well. I overheard Plant say that he liked their aura. But I guess Plant liked everone's aura that night.

Love,
Heckamax

It's too bad, HMax, cos my blog has tips on how you can enlarge your area. Haven't you been getting my emails?

grace was looking good in several of katy's photos too on her flickr. i think katy should be grace's official photographer.

Did you guys notice the floor during the Police? It was insane! I definitely think that it was one of the best "Halloween" shows and I've been to all of them except for the Family one and the Espresso Metro one. There was the perfect amount of bands and variety and everyone looked and sounded amazing. Cleaning up was pretty gnarly, although we did score some unopened Sparks Lite and a few Pabsts, but it was totally worth it.

I'm sorry I missed it this year. Thanks Leon, for posting the video. And Olson for the pics. Is there anymore video? Audio?

Hate to be a stickler people, but it's Olsen, not Olson.

And he's Ashley, not Mary Kate!

Sorry no more videos, but I'm sure Niki will have pictures galore sometime today, if not already.

I noticed the floor. I think I made the comment to someone that it felt like a bouncy-trampoline.

It was great to see Woodhouse taking care of the sound and playing drums in at least one band.

Good lord, I don't think I could pick a favorite. Everyone was SO good and so into it! Robert Plant's hair twirling almost killed me and who could believe the Police only had one practice?! Thanks to Mike Ross and his roomies for generously giving up their house for the night and letting it get trashed in the name of fun. I have the greatest, most amazing friends in the world.

When I was a kid, it was always Mrs. Olsen from little house on the Prarie, or Mrs. Olsen, the spokesperson for Foldger's Coffee.

When we were leaving out the back, Heather turned to me and said "The bar has definately been raised". Last year was the first time I actually saw the show, but well, it certainly seems like she was right. Fleetwood Mack and Zepplin blew me away, it couldn't have been better if it had actually been Fleetwood and Zepplin. My Music School buddy Jared who played trumpet for Cab Callowy was all being picky about how simple all the songs were (you mean like, not boring?) but at one point during Fleetwood Mack he said "Man, that Bass Player is awesome!" So there you go DP, a stickler technitian even thinks you shred.

I really appreciated the Police. So dead-on nailed, and I was too young to have ever gotten to see them live. That was one practice worth? Man!

Sorry, Chris! That's what I get for trusting the English teacher's spelling.

Salright. Olson is the more common spelling. I guess there's more Swedish than Danish in the US.

Chris, the pictures of you as Cab are great! You just seemed like Cab for reals, how do you do that?
I also loved Sandra's Stevie Nicks voice, it was so perfect.

Oh, I'm quite an accomplished method actor. I hung out with Cab Calloway for weeks and did tons of coke, drank gin like a feind, smoked a lot of reefer and opium in 1930's Harlem to prepare myself for this role.

a bunch. i think i got every band.

The Police. so top notch. when Message in a Bottle came on at work today, i couldn't help but dance around. nothing beats dancing on a spring board of an attic floor though.

the ex-Ye Olde Puppet Towne house is the best for hosting.

my mom is upset that Christine McVie did no fisting during the mac's set.

Hey,

Big thanks to Mike and the Attic House for hosting. If I didn't say thanks that night, it was because I was too coked up and getting American "birds" to notice my bird, or I was an intolerable asshole who happens to not only be an actor, but an accomplished jazz musician.

Seriously, drinks are on me, Mr. Ross, you guys are the best. I'll think of that night on my deathbed and die with a smile on my face. And don't lose that bird!

I love the attick. It's a great place for shows for so many reasons, but the number one reasons of all are the fantastic people who host there.

Thanks a million!

Oi, Sting - or li' our fookin' kid likes ta say, Prick, I shagged yer fookin' bird, right? Li' ye shagged mine. All I fookin' 'ear now is how five fookin' minutes ain't enough no more. Fookin' scouse schleppah!

Liam,

Perhaps you should change your diet to be macrobiotic and practice yoga. Beyond that, if your looking to please your bird in a "tantric" fashion, then stop being such a cunt and start excercising, study jazz, and begin an acting career.

Lovingly yours,
Sting
