it's time

What, can't a girl just post a picture of Elliot Gould once in a while without it being a federal incident?  It's been a while so it's time.  What nice thing do you think he's saying to me in this picture?  Maybe it's, "I brought you a bagel, from Canter's, with lox, just like you like it." Or maybe, "you have a little chopped liver on your chin, here let me get that."  Or, "you're right, people who don't like Philip Roth are anti-Semitic". The possibilities are really endless
I miss Freak Folk.  Fake luxury hippies are so much better than real hippies. It started in like the mid-2000s so the kids will revive it soon, right? They probably already did and I blinked and missed it. Is that what Mumford and Sons is? Feathers was one of my faves, and look at baby King Tuff up there in the top row, second from right.  He was probably like 15? 16? Sigh, I loved pretending I was a hippie and hanging out in Big Sur. Wait, I guess I still do that.

I've been doing this so long (almost nine years!) that after almost every one of my posts I wonder if I've already posted the same thing before. Deja blog? I mean, I know I've obviously posted pics of Elliot Gould before, that's like the lingua franca around here (did I use that right?)

I had a spectacular Manhattan at LowBrau last night which is good because it cost SIXTEEN DOLLARS. I asked for Old Portrero Rye, which the bartender was very enthusiastic about, but he didn't tell me how much it would cost. Old Portreo is brewed by Anchor, and I know it had to travel all the way from the Bay Area but that price seems high. Oh well, it was hella good. He upped the sweet vermouth because of the rough strength of the Old Portrero

I get to do a scavenger hunt with my coworkers today! I play to win. Gotta go.

I hope one of the things I have to find is an undergrad with uggs on and her ass cheeks hanging out!

what would you think of a coworker who wore a different velvet blazer everyday?

Just re-watched THE LONG GOODBYE. The world needs more Elliot Gould. "It's OK with me."

It may not be available in the US, but he was really great in an Australian TV movie playing a hitman for the IRA, Act of Betrayal. I saw on TV when I was on vacation in England, so don't know if it was ever shown here. It's kind of 1980s Michael Mann, like Manhunter, but Gould's definitely the best part.

I think what you've missed is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Elliot Gould as a young man = yes. Older? Not so much.
