bike issue of mm

Have you all read the new midtown monthly? It's so good! In the few days before this new issue came out a couple of questions had occurred to me (is the tree canopy going to die out after all these tree removals? what is up with those bike messenger kids?) and they were all answered in the new issue! The music coverage is especially interesting and well-written this month, too. Pick up a copy today. It's a lot easier to find around now.

"Midtown is the most progressive neighborhood in Sacramento with residents, publications, and city leaders who are decidedly leftist."

I thought is was great.
I also used to hide from a guy on the light rail who had a bloody face.
He told security it was fine he had bumped off the scab on his face, a scab possibly covering a keyhole to his brain. so it was a good issue in two ways.

Hey there,

Yeah, it is fantastic! I've enjoyed all the previous issues but this was a juge leap forward in all aspects -- writing, design, etc. And your piece rocked like a daddy!

Take care,
J.

maybe this is a good forum to elicit some feedback. i've heard a few rumblings that people like recipes, but i'm a little skeptical that people are actually cooking them. do you guys like recipes from local chefs, are is it something you'd just breeze by?

I went to Oto's after reading the article and they were closed. Bummed.

i think recipes are boring, but if you tie recipes into local stores/outlets where you can acquire unique ingredients for off-the-beat recipes, then that's cool.

was oto's closed for moving or just closed for the day? their hours are kinda limited, but they swore to me they wouldn't be closed during their move, which seems impossible. i like how disorganized their moving process is.

Sacramento does have a wiki now.

This may be a little off the subject, but I for one am stoked that the new Oto's was built on the old principle of having a storefront up on the sidewalk and hiding the parking lot in back. I think it would be great if more new retail construction used this old style of design.
