ho hum

Hey guys-

Wow, what a dud of a weekend.  Oh well, at least I'm well rested, and I had time to clean the house and put up those shelves I've been meaning to get to, etc.  Scott and I barely left the house except for a trip to Costco.  Our biggest excitement was catching  up on Season 2 of Homeland.   No spoilers, but did that end with a cliffhanger or what?

What did you guys do?

Homeland Spoilers:

Amy was so turned off by Homeland Season 2. I'll concede there was some ridiculous nonsense, but I'm still all in.

This weekend, I finally developed a strong psychic connection to ABBA. The fierceness of the eyes during those duet vocals was riveting! I got some pics that comprise most of this Flickr set.

I'm keeping my captcha unscramble to myself because it is so racist(!?!?!).

Also, if anyone's a Tyvek fan, please go see Protomartyr and Turn to Crime at Luigi's tomorrow night. Protomartyr is Joe Casey's band, and he's kinda like the fifth-Beatle of Tyvek. He's never really been a musician, but he's been their videographer and has come through Sacto with them and Puffy Areolas three or four times. Great guy. Well, this is his first band, and I'm always stoked when dudes in their late 30s/early 40s finally get a band off the ground, and it's as rad as this...

Turn to Crime is Shelley's band, and she played bass in Tyvek v2.0 and v2.1. She also played in Swimsuit who played a great house-show at Villanova in Davis. Her style in her own bands mines territory familiar to fans of Dreamdate and Knock Knock.

Rick, I can't tell you how happy I am that you understood the eye work.

The voices were pretty great, too!

I also love how Scott turned out in all my pics like he's in a different world.

It was a pretty decent weekend, until I got killed by Gwar. Now I'm dead.

Please please can I get one of the ping pong balls that say "you have been killed by gwar"? I want to use them as Xmas tree ornaments. Did anyone get one?

beckler said...

hmmm...well I guess if anyone got one that means that they're dead, so instead I'll ask if any next-of-kin has one

Brandi got one that said "You have been rok'd by GWAR" so she's not dead, she's just Rok'd. You can have it if you can pry it from he cold, rok'd hands.

I wish OMF wasn't just a lowly slave so we coulda cashed in on some of that 12k prize $$$ courtesy of "Soul Collective."

He should go Django on Gwar. OMF being the slave is so genius I can't even believe it. Due to the fact that I did not attend this show I missed some of the genius bits, such as the ping pong balls and the fact that the blonde puppet was Jewel and that her head was filled with Dum Dums

no one appreciates Jewel's poetry. Especially GWAR.
