did she mention that we might want to think about building a new arena?

I can't believe she's not embarrassed to crank this same shit out every day. She can probably generate hysteria in a written form in her sleep by now. So an NBA team is moving, big deal. She admits it's from a city with two other professional teams, which makes it quite different from Sac. How about this unsupported statement:

the matter ultimately comes down to this: The Kings and Monarchs could leave, and the region would still need a modern sports/entertainment facility.

She's constantly trying to distill what it all comes down to, and she comes to a different conclusion every time. If both those teams left (which is unlikely), then why exactly would we still need a new facility? She doesn't say, she just presents it as a fact.

For some entertainment, here are the closing lines from the arena articles she's written in the last two weeks (well, except for the one in which she did completely unbiased straight reporting), she really likes to end them with a punch to the gut:

Sacramento is on the clock.

It's all about the building

Roll the dice, but remember your roots.
Sac is home

I am so sick of this that she wins, I will vote for whatever the fuck the Maloofs want. I'll sign my savings over to them, I'll give them my penny jar, whatever it takes to get Voisin to stop turning out this crappy prose.

They should make a film about Voison and call it "The Great White Noise"

All I can say is "ditto, Rush!"

Someone posted the comment below at sacbee:

"...funny reading about the differing arena opinions offered by Voisin and Breton. It seems like Voisin is on the Maloof payroll, while Breton would rather not hand over the keys to the city to them just yet. How about we keep the "opinions" in the Opinions Column and keep the facts in the Sports Column? The facts are that the Kings have sold out every game for the past few years while having close to the highest priced tickets in the league. If the Maloofs are willing to pass up on the "cash cow" that Sacramento has proven to be because they don't get a free arena, then let them go."

Here's a small article about the anti-arena press conference on tuesday. People United seems pretty organized. They sent a mailer with a sign-up form to smiller's house, so they must have some funds.

the comments on this article about the specifics of the tax are skewing pretty negatively. It's not a random sample, though
