Did anyone go to the Evens show? How was it?

I went. No one else I normally see at shows did. It was a "True Love in exile" show, thus Hot Topic punks a plenty. I thought the venue was neat..just a block away from Espresso Metro in exile. Someone like Jay Howell should kidnapp K Seconds and start booking shows there in his place. They even serve the full menue while bands are playing.

I mainly went since I was a huge Fugazi fan back in HS, but I lost track of them years ago. The songs were Fugazi-lite, with Ian McKay on a little dan electo guitar and a drummer who also provided some female vocals. They played about 14 songs that had the same feel as maybe "Long Division" by Fugazi (and some slower songs). Ian McKay preached a bit and there was some crowd participation in some songs.

I thought it was a decent layed back show (everyone was sitting down, sippin' on chai).

Thanks for the info. I guess if everyone was sitting down then Ian didn't have to lecture them endlessly about not moshing. Did he lecture people to chew their food at least 40 times before swallowing? Or to make sure that their meal wasn't too high in saturated fat?
