Speaking of Joanna Newsom, Jason D was talking about her yesterday since he just got back from Smog tour & she was there for part of it. Right in the middle of telling me about one of her shows, a few songs of hers came on in this pub (segued from "Forever Young") & immediately the bartender started looking at us like "what's this shit?!" and kinda knowingly looking at us like "you guys know what I'm talkin' about. this shit is weird!" but I think Jason figured it'd be pointless to be all "actually she's my friend." Then the cook came out all stressed like "why is this playing in our restaurant!?". I mean, it WAS pretty noticeable & somewhat loud. I guess they were just rocking someones ipod & it was on there. The best was, after they skipped through her songs, some TV show theme song came on & it was suddenly like "Quinn Martin Presents: This Bar!". But of course nobody thought that seemed weird at all.

It takes forever to download the songs from that site, but I'm likin' what I'm hearin'. Did you get any good gossip?
