Music crap

So the new Oasis album is called "Don't Believe the Truth" which is such a perfect Oasis title that it is hilarious. This prompted me last night to try to start making up imaginary Oasis song or album titles. I know other people have thought of this game, but it's still fun to do. I came up with:
always is never forever
or a song called hear it again for the first time

make up your own, please. please?

also: has anyone ever heard the john cale album helen of troy? I can't decide whether to ebay it.

also: I have heard that the Spoon dude (who seems like a bit of a douche) bragged that they did the Stones "emotional rescue" one better on their falsettoey, mildly funky track "I turn my camera on". If he really said that, he's dumb cuz "emotional rescue" is way better. Also, this album is ok, but the last one was better, although Britt Daniels said that this one is clearly the best one. Yeah right, and TP3 reloaded is also the best R. Kelly album ever.

I bet no one is going to comment on this post, so it will probably come down shortly.

I have heard that Britt Daniel is an asshole. I still love him though. I do not believe he said that I turn my camera on was better than emotional rescue, but I did read a review that compared the two quite favorably. But if he did say that, then, yes, he is getting too big for his britches.

I also think that Girls Can Tell, which preceeds Kill the Moonlight, is their best album.

Always Is Never Forever is pretty damn good. Hopefully it will contain a line about "needing more time". Liam always seems to need more time. Step up lad! Time is of the essence. That's kind of an Oasis-ish title come to think of it. Not quite though. I really wish I could be as mad for Oasis as I once was. I mean, the new record is better than the last two for sure - but they kinda sound defeated to me. I'd rather read interviews with them than listen to them these days.

So many good quotes!!!

Liam on aliens - "If I saw an alien, I'd tell it to fuck right off because whatever planet he came from they wouldn't have the Beatles or any decent fucking music. So they can fuck right off, I ain't going anywhere with them."

Liam on vanity - "I suppose I do get sad, but not for too long. I just look in the mirror and go, 'What a fucking good-looking fuck you are.' And then I brighten up."

Man, picturing Liam telling an alien to fuck right off is making me laugh so hard!

How about a 12-minute album-closing Oasis epic called "Sunshine Rainstorm"?

That would give Liam an excellent opportunity to say "Sunsheeeeeine".

And Becky thought there would be no coments on this thread. Actually, it just hit me that we all fell for her trick. Regardless, I would like to thank this thread for making work 5% more bearable today.

I just crunched the numbers, and I'm at 6.2% better over here. It has been a slow day though.

I'll bet that new Spoon album is gonna creep up on you. I gave it the three-listen rule and still found myself feeling like everyone else (i.e. "Kill the Moonlight" was better). Although, after about 12 listens, I've finally realized it's a classic. "Sister Jack" is perfect for bike-riding or... hanging out with your sister... and that "Was It You?" song is great for feeling creepy in your house by yourself late at night. I don't know this band, Emotional Rescue that you're talking about but I doubt a band with a pansy name like that could rock harder than Spoon. Though, Spoon took four years to record this?! I was expecting a little more. I mean, Radiohead was gone for 4 and came back with "Kid A". D'Angelo was took 5 years and then gave us "Voodoo" and a new tight bod. My parents were out of the game for a whole three years before they came up with me.

Who wrote this last one? I gotta know. Actually, I have given the Spoon album at least 12 listens and I still think: it's just alright. And thinking that has made me revisit the thought that the lyrics were pretty embarassing sometimes on their last album and that maybe I don't like them as much as I thought.

And is anyone gonna answer me about Helen of Troy? Is it possible that no reader of this blog has ever heard that album?

I've never heard Helen Of Troy, but when I do, I'm gonna tell it to fuck right off!!
