zelda's rec

On Niki's recommendation, me and smiller got the onion, garlic, olive at Zelda's and it was the most delicious pizza known to mankind. I would dare to say that it's better than the standard veg.

Speaking of olives, on H Con's request, I put some olive juice in my beer. Delicious!

We get mushrooms, olives and garlic. Did you sub the mushrooms for onions to fend off vampires?

I've had mushroom and garlic Zelda's and it is the fucking bomb. Can't wait to go there and have Christmas drinks. By the way, Beckler, that rum punch was real good.

thanks, i got the recipe from my friend Emeril Lagasse. BAM!

I modified it to add waaaayyyyy more booze. Here's simple version:

Lots of dark rum
Lots of unfiltered apple cider
brown sugar
add more rum
apple slices (these turned out really tasty after it heated, so use a couple of apples)
orange slices
add a dash more rum
cinnamon
nutmeg
cloves
slowly heat and add more rum as required

We get Peperoni and Garlic at Zelda's. It's real simple and real good!

Your rum punch sounds delish!

It's a lot like the traditional xmas party Apple Jones (or Apple Jack, if you want, Tess). Just no orange juice and the nicest whiskey you can afford v.s. rum.

Before the party I had a craving for hot chocolate and brandy, so I made two big pots and got real sleepy and drunk at the same time. It was a great night for hot drinks.

How about a holiday review of Poor Red's??

Michele, I vote you as reviewer.
Golden Cadillacs and silver dollars as change!

Viva the gold rushiness of NorCal!

You gotta review Annebelles. It doesnt count as a buffet since you wont want to go back for more (also they only give you one plate).

the jewish coffee was not so hot. more because of zelda's coffee being terrible than for the general jewiness.

This is off subject, but smiller, do you think that the Elton John song you hate is "Levon"? I heard that song yesterday and it was so bad that I instantly thought it was the one...

Dude, I'll review Poor Red's anytime. We totally should go up there this X-mas. Has Willy ever been? He kind of looks like the Poor Red's logo, a red-headed miner. We could get some of those NorCal pork ribs!!!!!!!!!!!

What?? Amy, I feel like I don't even know you now. Really, you've got to try a pie with the garlic.

YES! It's Levon. I hate it.

And I can take a lot of criticisms of Zelda's pizza - such as "Waaah, crust, waaah" - but BLAND?! WTF!??!?!?!?!?! That's crazy talk.

Gold Cadillacs! i nearly grew up in Poor Reds'.

Niki - judging by your excellent taste in creative tofu's, i'm willing to guess that pizza combo is heaven.
