well, I guess it's not last minute exactly, it's tomorrow. Caroline Pennypacker Riggs, one half of one of the best new bands around, the Finches, is playing an acoustic house show tomorrow. It's at Margaux, DP and Jessicas place (this place doesn't really have a punko name even after all these years) which despite the fact that I lived there for a long I can't remember the address of right now! It's on the corner of 11th and U, across from the school. It starts
at nine, Danny Offer is playing too and dark dark mask (ATTENTION all bands stop saying you are 102 years old on myspace, that's not really funny in the sense that it isn't really a joke, plus it is interesting to know how long a band has been around) there will be a pre-show BBQ. Do not miss this! Carolyn's voice is so filled with character, it really stands out from a sea of pretty singing (well, it's pretty also, but it's warm and just, unique, I don't know how to describe it). I don't know what songs she'll be singing, Finches or other stuff. When I was trying to find a photo of her (this one of her and her bandmate from the Finches is the only one on the internet) I was not surprised to note that again and again people call her and the Finches "charming". It's true, she will charm the pants off of you.

dark dark mask is one dude, he opened the last Thanksgiving show. sort of a cross between some of the Thanksgiving/Microphones related bands and maybe Fursaxa since he uses that sampling pedal instead of having bandmates.

as for time niki, I don't know, margs? i wanna see strangers with candy hecka bad too but even if it bombs it will be there for at least a week. i would guess she'll play around 1030
Show starts at 9:00, so yeah she'll probably play around 10:30pm. It can't go too late cause I've got a downstairs neighbor who likes to yell at only me. But she's crazy so I just ignore her.

Bands don't put in an age. It's a myspace thing, I can't figure out how to make it go away but find it annoying as well.

why don't people ever sign when they write stuff like that? stand behind your opinion. i'v barely heard cat power but i'm guessing their song structure and lyrics are totally different, so what are you trying to say exactly, do you think she tries to sound like her? do you have a quota of each type of female voice that you will listen to? clarify please
ok, I'm streaming the newer cat power song "the greatest" right now and you are so full of it, anon. Chan's voice is way raspier and bluesier. Carolyn's voice is very clear and not raspy at all.

i don't think there's a single cat power/finches comparison that can be drawn. not even close. i like both bands but don't see a single similarity, in fact, they're kind of opposites.
Actually, when I first heard the Finches, I thought her voice did have a similar sound to the Cat Power lady, but it's a whole different style of music and singing all together. BTW the only cat power album I like is "moon pix".
