ha! i just googled "is die antwoord a joke" and I guess it is. The guy with progeria put it over the top. I got tricked. It's pretty brilliant. It would have to be to trick me.
Hey Becks, how come this blog has no love for Omri Casspi? I remember how excited you were when the Kings signed his fellow Israeli David Bluthenthal, and that guy never played in a game. Meanwhile, Omri is a stud - very promising player, good-looking kid, tough as nails, plays 20-30 minutes a game. They are even selling Omri Casspi jerseys with his name in Hebrew. I feel like you are going out of your way to praise rendered goose fat and dis Omri. What gives?
I agree DB. Why put rendered duck fat over a local jewish hero? Also The girl in the S. African band is wearing a Batista shirt. Is that part of the joke or does hse really like Batista?
I see that Aileen Voison wrote about Casspi in today's paper. But that wasn't the inspiration, it was when I was at the game last week and saw the jersey in Hebrew.
Clearly he's becoming to popular and the Kings organization would like to keep him from being Blog-famous as well. There's a part of Die Antwoord that seems a bit too real even if it is a joke. Like his tattoos. I'm curios to see where they go. It gives me hope for joke bands all the world over. Oh and white ninjas as well.
I'm a little obsessed with die antwoord. While it's clearly tongue in cheek, they play a lot of shows, and there is a lot of discussion about the realness and fakeness among South Africans. Watch the "taxijam" video on youtube where they are rapping in a van that's driving around. And the blond girl drops trou!
