Finally a respected scientist weighs in on the controversial stem-cell measure in Cali. I mean, there have been all these celebrities confusing the issue like Michael J. Fox, Arnie, Christopher Reeves, and biggest of all, Rob Reiner, but with no scientific analysis I don't know how to vote. So I was glad to see in the Bee today that a stem cell researcher by the name of, what was it? Oh yeah, a Dr. Mel Gibson taped a commercial to speak out against this proposition. Here's a quote, "If cloning human embryos for destruction is so promising, why aren't private companies paying the $6 billion,". Oh, so this measure is to raise funds to clone human embryos for destruction!?! You mean that my tax dollars will be funding the creation of an army of human clones that will come to destroy me and my family? That sounds scary!! I'll be voting no for sure. In fact shouldn't we be passing some kind of law against the creation of an army of human clones that will attack us? Especially an army of Jewish clones. That would be the worst. What if when Our Lord and Savior finally comes back this army of Jewish clones tries to kill him all over again? The Jews always ruin everything.
Correction, I guess the idea of the Pike's Place-style market in the Woolworth's building was not Anna's idea. It's still a good idea, though. Anna's idea was a community center in that same building that would kind of centralize and promote the various ethnic festivals that occur throughout the Sac area. She also proposed it as a sort of general meeting place that could show political documentaries and stuff like that. Kind of like Sierra 2 but more central. She pointed to the Brooklyn Academy of Music as an example. If you haven't been there, it's a sort of all-purpose cultural center where they have dance, music, and have cool film festivals.
