cat paradise

I want to post about the dinner last night but it will take a bit to write and I don't have time yet. So stay tuned!

Meanwhile, when was the last time you went to Miller park? OK, it's not that spectacular but did you know it has a cat village? There are at least twenty full grown cats of all types living in harmony together. It's beautiful. Some cat lovers have built them a deluxe cat house and they had multiple, heaping bowls of cat chow. It's like a utopia, catopia if you will. And you will.

Went for drinks on the Delta King, too. It was rad. They have overpriced bottles of anchor but really you are paying for the opportunity to drink on the deck of a steamboat. The weather yesterday was so beautiful. It felt like spring.

So LCD got dissed at the grammys? Bullshit.

Miller Park's all the way at the end of Broadway towards the river. And I should know.

The last time I went to Miller's park there were white geese everywhere. I had to ride my bike right between 'em. They didn't even flinch. And then, as I sat by the river watching a family of Canadian geese swim by a skunk walked up, checked me out and then split. Definately a cool park.

Miller park is killer. I used to live down the levee from there and I would ride my bike down there all the time, cobble squat and partake in a J. The apartments I lived on off of Riverside were right on the river. I loved it over there SO much I lived in four different apartments. The dynamics in that area have changed quite a bit because they are building a resort on the levee. SUCKS!!! Glad you went to the Delta King to enjoy a drink. It truly is one of my favorite places to chill. The nostalgia of the boat is so romantic.

Providing that it's after 5 on a weekday or any other time, feel free to invite me along next time you go for drinks on the Delta King.

will you bring your banjo? will you wear a straw boater?

i think we should make that an event--olsen playing the banjo while wearing a straw hat whilst we drink on the delta king. then he can do a reading of a mark twain story.

near dark, miller park turns into a skunk orgy. People use to catch those cats using cat food and giant traps. I haven't a clue what they did with them. Someone comes and feeds them which also is why the skunks are all over the place.

In all honestly it's not as nice as you may think.

there's some group in town, the name of which escapes me, that catches the cats in order to have them spayed/neutered, then returns them. they actually try to keep the exact cat colony location a secret so that more folks don't just dump their cats there.

OK, this may be a dumb question, but is that what the Rivercats are named after?

I don't think so, but that would be rad!

I figured it was absurd but then I thought, well what ARE they named after?!

Who knows? I was on a swim team in River Park when I was a kid. Our mascot was even worse: Riverrats!
