all ages show tonight
So, it's official. The Man has shut down Coolcat gallery. No Knock Knock show. Seems like Coolcat could at least have the courtesy to update their myspace page and tell people that if they're not gonna call the bands. However, there's a show tonight at Java Lounge that should be fun. It's th' losin' streaks, agent ribbons, and a band from Sardinia named the Rippers. Starts at nine?

My neighbor is scheduled to play there next week and he found out by stopping by that the shows have been canceled.
He's got an even better mustache than me. Mustache March!
Good news! I just opened a new venue & we're moving the Knock Knock show there tonight. Oh, wait, it's closed down now. Sorry. It was great while it lasted.

yes, and i'm shaking with rage that you didn't know that.
Lil Bunnies Easter Sunday in SF...just thought I'd put that out there.

I joke I joke.
this sacbee article about immigration patters in the sac area is great news!

sigh, if only some of these exciting new restaurants would open up downtown so I wouldn't have to try to muster enthusiasm for places like g.v. hurleys.
wow, I'm really surprised to note that I like Allen Pierlioni's last two articles for the bee. There's one on chicken fried steak that's enlightening. The one of Flaming Grill (a place which is getting a dumptruck load of yelp hype) is pretty good. He doesn't really say how the burgers were.
uh, immigrations patterns
The Russian and Ukrainian population to Russian and Ukrainian restaurants ratio is upsetting. Those people need to step it up.
The Thai population to Thai restaurants ratio is conversely out of hand.
The Ancient Sons are debuting 3 new tunes on Saturday at Fox & Goose! Come by if you are sad that Knock Knock can't play. Maybe they will be there even. I hope so. I have been sick as hell w/ the flu, but feel better today and hopefully can sing it all away tomorrow.
see ya,
chris
Damn the man!
That place seemed doomed from the beginning though...they barely answered e-mails or phone calls and didn't promote that well. Oh well, it is still a drag that they got shut down. Bummer!
I know lots of SE Asian people in Sacto and almost none of them are Thai. Tons of Hmong, Mien, Lao, Viet, but no Thai. But with Thai cuisine's popularity, it's no surprise that there is so much of it and a lot of the proprietors of those restuarants come from those mentioned groups.
I would also guess that the number of Sushi establishments is out of wack with the Japanese population. Probably out of wack with all things, in fact. Like mustaches. What about tatoos? Oh yeah, everyone has those now.
