questions

I forgot that everything is on the internet now so all questions can be answered. I saw this commercial on TV (maybe on This TV) kind of late at night and was like "WTF is this thing?". Tune in until about a minute in to see a guy "smoking" on a plane. What is this for??! Is it secretly for smoking weed? Why is it free?

I can smoke in bed now!?! Shit yes!

It's "free" because the "shipping and handling" is probably 20 - 30 bucks.

i just bought one at Tower and i quite like it. i used it on a 14 hour plane flight, though i didn't smoke it in front of people, as they'd still flip out.

it's a water/nicotine cartridge that vaporizes into "smoke". it kinda smells faintly of old laundry, but there's no carbon monoxide or other dangerous 2nd hand stuff.

i don't see any way to smoke weed with it. don't they make vaporizers for that anyway?

I was confused because they keep saying "no nicotine" in the commercial.

I watched several commercials for this product, they made me want to have a cigarette.

I was in traffic down in the fancy part of LA in Oct. and I saw Lady Victoria Hervey puffing away on one of these, she helped design them. But hers evidently has a bejeweled version of her family crest on it, I'm told on the old internet. She was having a total nicotine fit on that thing!

Sorry, i'm a work at really listen to the commercial. They may be referring to the cartridges that are available with 0 mg of nicotine. They usually come in 12, 10, 6, 4, 0 mg.

I gotta admit, until these things catch on a bit more, i feel pretty ridiculous smoking it in public. I think it's made me even more of a closet smoker than i was before. Yet, it is nice to get the feeling of smoking and satiate my acquired nicotine craving, without killing myself so harshly and smelling so badly.

It's definitely no replacement for the taste of tobacco. But cigarettes aren't the best experience in that regard anyway.

how much was this at Tower?

It was $80. Comes with a charger, two batteries (cigarette part) and two 12 mg cartridges (filter part).

i read up a bit before buying, and the brand they carry is a pretty decent one. can't vouch for the one in the ad posted here though. i can't see how they'd be giving it away, but maybe it's worth looking into?

one cartridge last about 1-1.5 packs of ciggies. the ones the kit comes with are strong and don't create much smoke. it works much better with the 8 or 6 mg cartridges. packs of those $15 per, and included 5 cartridges.

I heard on NPR that the tobacco companies developed these and test marketed them, but there was a huge backlash against them (I forget why), so they never brought them to a wide-scale market.

Anyway, don't buy these for THC imbibing. Follow nick's links for that. Or go to Twisted here in Sac.
