The New York mag article talks about this crap article that two guys wrote about how Ashkenazi Jews are smarter and how and why they could have evolved that way. The other quote is an example of someone who disagrees with this article.
What I don't understand is why she can't call the study bullshit and find it insulting at the same time.

I took it to mean that the person being quoted thinks the study is so insulting that it shouldn't be taken lightly & just brushed off as bullshit. "Bullshit" was probably the wrong word since calling something that doesn't necessarily mean you don't take something seriously.

Yeah, she could have said, "ridiculous" or "pointless" or "inconsequential" instead of "bullshit", and the 2nd half of her quote would make more sense.

Are they using the real Larry David or the Larry David character from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as the example of Jewish intellectual superiority? Because isn't the point of the show that Larry David is pretty much a tit?
DB, I thought about that too! But then I remembered when he hired the quartet to play Wagner on his neighbor's lawn, and I remembered that Larry David the character is pretty brillant after all.
