clap your hands say yeah

Pitchfork has proclaimed Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (I know) as the current saviors of indie rock. There's a free MP3 today at Goldenfiddle, (it's linked at the top) so check it out . Sounds good, but I'm not crazy about the singer's voice.

Algebra in summer school is stealing every last brain cell of mine, so I can't even say anything original about this. So, I'm stealing what a friend had to say:

"By the way, I'm not sure if you read P-fork yet, but they are creaming their pants over that Clap Your Hands band...I checked out the MP3's after they creamed over their single review...I can see why Arcade Fire warrants praise (I don't really ever want to listen to them, but they do have some great songs on their record)...but this band... I think they are in the right place (NY) at the right time (P-forks indie music PR machine). Personally, I want the 8-9 minutes of my life back that I wasted on their bland tunes...but I guess now they'll be selling out 2 nights at the Fillmore."

Okay, now back to my own personal comment: OHHHHHH DAAAAMN!

Uh, that's in regards to what he said, not the band.

Pitchfork is even less dependable than all the other zines/mags/sites that post reviews written by autonomous brains.

For example, P-fork can't decide whether they want to give a handjob to each member of Out Hud (by the way, one time, I partied with one of the dudes from that band. I offered him a hand job. Get it? Offer-ed him a hand job?!) or if they want to diss the shit out of them.

Hasn't the Pitchfork staff ever heard of streamlining taste/thoughts? Those fools need to quit reading the Dictionary and join the Army!

Love,

Danny of One

thanks for the comment but now I have a question:

6x - 2 + 2x = -2 + 4x + 8

what is X equal to?

I've listened to the song a few times. It has a definite bouncy Cure-ish element to the music with nasal vocals. I'm gonna say thumbs down. Not earth-shattering by any means. Maybe this song is not typical cuz people are comparing them to the Talking Heads.
