I have so much work to do but I don't wanna!
I didn't know that Aaron Probe has a website but thanks to Smitty posting those picture links now I do. Heather was right about Mike being too skinny in that picture. Dude, eat a sandwich! Probe was a magazine that really used to offend me back in the day when I was more Riot Grrly. I was offended because it featured naked punk girls, at least one of them a young girl that I saw around Sac. This was way before suicide girls or anything and it was pretty controversial. Times have changed and now this wouldn't bother me. Oh yeah, the mag also had articles. I don't remember them too well except that one time Aaron wrote something about sexually satisfying a woman and I remember thinking he was pretty right on. Here's the link, the pictures are NSFW.

I once owned the infamous Probe with a very naked Ed Hunter in it. How would ya feel about that? Offended? Amused? Offended and amused? Excited? I think he was bbqing but I don't remember anymore.
i loved the probe, aaron put out a ton of Hickey records too. i've got a bunch of them, there was a sacto issue that had the lady from Old Man Homo in it. always weird recognizing people, dudes and ladies. "girl reviews" was the thing that got everyone's undies in a bundle, those were hilarious. i usually see aaron and the expanding family at the Peep Off.
I wasn't too wigged out about the issue Liv brought up until I went to the Portland wake for Jim. The Lopez guys were kind enough to point out that the young ladies I was with in the pic were probably not yet 18. If memory serves, their faces are not shown. They were fully clothed and there was no messing around between us. (I was involved w/someone here in sacto and don't subscribe to the "zip code rule or any other such nonsense.) Still, I really don't need a SO jacket.
That said, Aaron is a great writer and his stuff has always impressed me. I just hope there won't be any nasty side-effects from the pic of me. (plus, it ain't the most flattering. The photog was grateful to have a non-female on display, but a better shot w/o the JB would have been a lot better.)
Nameless coward
In case no one has heard yet, the Kings have traded Peja Stojakovic straight up for Ron Artest. I would like to declare myself officially interested in the Kings again.
say what???????
this should be the jumpstart you need to get the barnesyard going again. once you've been gone for awhile it's hard, but you just have to get back on that horse. who's going to give me a run for my money when the news and review best of issue comes back around?
No one.
I am so excited by this trade news! And just today there was some BS Bee article about how Peja wanted to spend the rest of his days here. Welcome to him Indiana. Maybe Larry Bird can teach Peja to be the next Larry Bird.

One of the best quotes I've ever read. It's from Artest's agent:
"I'm going to leave it that there have been flirts. Not a flirt, but flirts, with Sacramento. I'm leaving it open. There have been flirts with Sacramento. There have been recent, recent flirts."

that truly is one of the best quotes i've ever read. damn. you unearthed a good one connie.
Artest,
I want to party with you, dude!
Gbomb
sulli told me after getting drafted by the NBA, Artest tried to get a job on the side at Circuit City "for the comraderie and the discount". then he asked to take 6 months off in the middle of the season so he could work on his rap record.
Sounds like he'll fit in in Sac. But not as well as Brad Miller, who my brother ran into at Thunder Valley casino. They were both wasted. No Hard Rock Casino or Palms for our boy Brad. Not his style.
Artest is so crazy, he just rejected the trade...hopefully no one will tell Peja.
Mario
heckasac, you are close. Too close.
you can find a totally silly letter i wrote to aaron back in my overzealous riot girl days on that site:
