what's up?

The ol' blog is providing me with lots of amusement today. Thanks. I love the comments but sometimes I'm curious about why certain people used to comment but have dropped out. I wonder if I offended some of them in some way or if they got bored and don't read or lost computer access or something. If any past commenters want to let me know go ahead, I give you permission to post anonymously if you want. Now's your chance to tell me why I suck. Is it because I use the word "mien" wrong? My spelling of various wine types? What?

Lots of shows coming up. Tomorrow is Calvin Johnson and Tender Forever at Fool's. Saturday Lyme Regis and the Losin' Streaks are playing in Nevada City. I would like to go but I'm going to a white elephant party hosted by a hott librarian (that doesn't sound like I'm not stoked on the party, does it? I am). And I will keep flogging (and blogging) the show next friday (the 16th) at Puppet Towne. Rose Melberg, the Finches, maybe Knock Knock and the song stylings of Jane H. I am separately excited about each of these performances, so they add up a heart-pounding, roller coaster ride of a pop show. Any shows I'm forgetting?

Will someone remind me when the four-eyes xmas show is? I want to get the next day off cuz I'm gonna PARTY TILL I PUKE!

I stopped posting after my first child.

God willing, The Four Eyes x-mas show is Dec. 19th. That gives us 11 days to learn three hours of covers. No problemo.

As someone who as partied and puked after a Four Eyes Christmas show, I would not endorse it to anyone else. The hangover was so not worth it! Plus, it was pretty embarrassing for the 3 or 4 weeks after when people would say "oh my god, you were so drunk!"

It's hard to believe now that there was a time when the 4 Eyes Christmas show was attended by around 10 people and I think I was the only one who watched the whole thing from start to finish. The turning point? Starting the show by handing out Natural Ice to the crowd. Genius.

I don't know what to do. My brother flies in that night at 10pm, which will be an hour or so before the show ends. I put in A LOT of requests, and even though I know they won't even half get played, I DO NOT want to miss a moment of this. Hell, I'd even leave my brother, who I dearly love, sitting at the airport a few hours, except I'd be too drunk to go pick him up.

I don't know if he can get an earlier flight or what, but man...stinking family is always bad timing with shows.

Just give him a couple of bucks for a cab. And the directions to the loft. Tell him to pick up some brews on the way.

Hey heckasackers,

Knock Knock won't be playing the attic. We'd love to, but we already agreed to a sweeeeeeeet show at Marilyn's that night. In case you didn't hear me the first time, a sweeeeeeet show at Marilyn's. The good news is that I will be able to hang out with my ol' Yuba chum, ex-band mate, former Honker, and one-time Homecoming King, Mr. Tony Edwards who drums for the band we are playing with, Paradigm. The bad news is that show at the attic sounds sooooo good. But I couldn't let my bro down and cancel. Honkers forever!!

Heckasac, I loved the story about the kids at esoteric so much. "Turntables". Genius.

Christmas rules, you wanna know why? Shure, family is great (heckamad, I'm talkin' to you) and getting time of school is cool, but the real joy of the Holiday seasons is the insane sactoness. Miller's (not kickball Katie's) X-mas party. The Four Eyes Christmas show. The "Halloween" show. Watch out, Al is feeling Sacto-pride, heavy-like.

And to cap it, be ready for Heritage Party II: Try burning This, Asshole! coming sometime in January.

It's "Heritage Party II: Try burning this ONE. asshole." Get it straight Al.

I thought it was Heritage Party II: Mission Accomplished! Can we just merge that with the Wasted Party II: Wasted Wonderland? Because I fear that the second wasted party will never occur due to the fact that no one wants to host a party called the wasted party at their house (I know I don't). I really just want it to be called that so I can assemble another flyer filled with pictures of wasted friends. Also, not playing the attic is some pussy ass shit.

Four Eyes show is monday the 19th. songs start at 7pm so get there at 6:45 (like miller does). I actually got the okay from Soriano. We're actually basing what songs to learn off the list of suggestions so be prepared for some "sweetness".
You were really drunk last year, niki.
HeckaAl - ad to your list Lord of The Rings Fest on Jan 1st.

Whoah,

Hey Kickball Katie, my post should read, "Miller's X-mas party (NOW Kickball Katie's". Dude. That earlier post makes me seem like an asshole. Which I am, but in another way.

Props for keeping the tradition alive at that apartment. I've got a screw loose and a touchy keyboard hand.

Wait, Davy, I though Lisa said the LotR Fest would be on Monday the 2nd? Because people had that day off or something?

you asshole Heckamax.

s'ok. we're billing it as the "Fifth Annual Scott Miller Christmas Party".

be prepared for some old touches. like coming early in cocktail clothes with fancy treats. and new touches to be revealed.

wow, that sentance makes me sound like a lech.

I'll play puttin' on the ritz for you, that's my territory, Miller.

I'm going to have to work the Foureyes show somehow, and get my brother here. Trouble is, no matter how I slice it, he won't be there for the show. It will be ending when he gets into midtown, whether he takes a cab or I go pick him up.

I think for the Heritage party, I'm going to come as Phyllis Schafly. I'm a direct decendant of Col. William Prescott, the man who lead the Yanks at the battle of Bunker Hill, but being a revolutionary war hero is too-too-Olsen. I've always been facinated with Schafly, and I think I'm the man to be that woman.

i'm always down for new touches. i am for one am excited about the fancy dress because i can rock my new gown that is a design in which the tag says "that eva gabor look designed by esteban".

werenotdeep said...

I'm usually more facinated with new toucheses.

How come the the 4 Eyes never covered that "Chant" song from tge 90's? I'm also trying to develop a clever joke combining their name and 24-7 Spyz. So far, no dice.

"that eva gabor look designed by esteban"

esteban is obviously a genius.

heckamax,

i guess i don't get any love for living in the apartment too? "the 5th annual smiller dance party and kickball katy bash (oh, yeah, and i think that HOTT redhead with the glasses lives there too)."

that's alright. i'll be sitting in my bedroom all night licking my wounds while you guys have a good time. i might show up in the kitchen with a can of beans on my head to commemorate the first time i met vann.

new touches--katy! you do what you want with your own two set of hands. i did not agree to any touching!

Check January 1st. Does Lembas bread cure a hangover? How about the Four Eyes covering a Tom Bombadil song?

Why not Heritage II: Electric Bugaloo?

Unknown said...

whoa. my own "two sets" of hands?!?!?

Alice, you're in no way allowed to stay in your room all night. the party won't have it.

Anonymous said...

Could I request the Heritage Party part 2 to not be on the 13th -15th? Please please please....I am going to a wedding party in Pheonix. My heart would break if I couln't go. ~~~jg

werenotdeep said...

For the record, that wasn't me this time.

Alice said...

the only reason i'll be in my bedroom that night is for a costume change. for some reason, i have a feeling i'm going to be wearing something new every half hour. oh, and if anyone wants to hot box my room with me. . .well, they'll just have to do it on the back porch. sorry, dudes.

Heckamax, Don't forget that other new holiday tradition: Frosty Time. If it ends up spontaneously happening again, I think the alien could stir things up a little.

I also request the return of Alexander Hamilton at the Heritage Party II: Red, White, and BREW (that's my party name contribution).

Sorry Alice,

I wasn't aware that you lived in the old Miller place (shudder). That place gives me the creeps.

Anyway, wear the can.
